Legacy youths dedication to art rewarded

Roxanne Harmon, senior at Sequoyah High School, recently won two first place awards at the Tulsa Indian Arts Festival, with a colored pencil work and a Cherokee basket. She was also awarded a 500 dollar scholarship to pursue her education. We wish to congratulate this hardworking teen who represents what "honoring our legacy" is all about!

Grant for art building completion

Cherokee Nation gave just over 8,000 dollars for materials needed to ready the Park Hill, Legacy Art Center, for use. Beginning in February the Legacy community will start hammering, putting up insulation and installing appliances to prepare the building for classes in art and cultural learning. If you would like to donate time or resources call Tiger Art Gallery 918-687-7006.
