Happy New Year! Legacy went to the New Years Eve Sobriety Powwow in Tulsa where we had our booth for the youth "art style!". Tons of art was made, donations of cash were received and we gave out prize money to six talented winners (and a non winner) (another story...). What a wonderful time we had!
Soon I will be posting pics of our one day art and culture camp held during Thanksgiving weekend at the Legacy land in Park Hill. Forty people came out to participate and share cultural crafts, food and laughter. The only thing missing was our camp leaders from Tennessee, Wanda and Case DeWaard. They will be back in May for camp on Memorial Day weekend.
We look forward to coming together in this new year to carry on our traditional teachings and to celebrate the creativity within our Cherokee and Mvskoke people.
